Litchifield

[EN] I arrive in Darwin at around 2pm: it is stinking hot and rather humid, despite the fact that it is winter (i.e. the dry season)... quite a thermal shock after the cold winter nights in the desert! Just the time to find a cheap car to rent and I'm already hitting the road to the Litchfield National Park. It's not too far from the city, so I'm there well before sunset. I stay in a campsite for the night, and the day after I start my exploration of the park. One day is enough to see the most interesting places around: stunning falls and natural pools (they have been some scenes of "Crocodile Dundee" here!), canyons and huge termite mounds... yes, those in the photos are not big rocks, but "cathedral" mounds!!!

[IT] Arrivo in Darwin alle 2 di pomeriggio circa: fa caldissimo ed e' abbastanza umido, nonostante il fatto che e' inverno (cioe' la stagione secca)... una bella escursione termica rispetto alle fredde notti del deserto! Giusto il tempo di trovare una macchina da noleggiare a buon prezzo e sono gia' sulla strada, diretto al Litchfield National Park. Non e' troppo lontano dalla citta', quindi arrivo ben prima del tramonto. Campeggio per la nottata, e il giorno seguente comincio la mia esplorazione del parco. Un giorno e' sufficiente per vedere i posti piu' interessanti: splendide cascate e pozze naturali (qui hanno filmato alcune scene di "Crocodile Dundee"!), canyons e enormi termitai... ebbene si', quelli nelle foto non sono dei roccioni, ma termitai a "cattedrale"!!!
